Laotian Egg Rolls Recipe


For those of you who love to eat egg-rolls and always wanted to learn how to make them, here another way to make the delicious egg-rolls - Laotian style! Laotian Egg Roll is wrapped with mixed ingredients: ground pork, eggs, carrots, cabbage, onions, garlic,dried black mushroom and bean thread noodles. Making it the best egg-roll of them all (my opinion). Recipe is from asianspicyrecipes.com, see below for recipe.

Laotian Egg Rolls
Ingredients

Ground pork
Shredded carrots
Cabbage (chopped)
Bean thread noodles (soak in water for 10 minutes)
Onion (chopped)
Garlic (minced)
Dried black mushrooms (soak in water and slice)
Eggs
Fish sauce
Salt
Sugar
Egg roll wrappers (30 per box)
Egg whites (slightly beaten)
Canola oil (for deep-frying)
Black pepper (adjust to taste)
Method
  1. Mix all ingredients except wrappers in a large bowl
  2. Carefully separate the wrappers and cover individually with damp paper towels to keep them moist
  3. Spread two tablespoons of filling in the corner of each wrapper and roll tightly on a flat surface and seal seams with egg whites.
  4. Heat 2 to 3 inches of oil in wok or deep pan to 325 to 350 degrees
  5. Float the rolls in oil and fry 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until golden brown
